Dubbo Hospital
Construction Specialties have been honoured to be involved in the Dubbo Hospital Redevelopment Project. After 5 years, Dubbo Hospital has finally reached completion. The redevelopment consisted of 4 stages and the addition of the Western Cancer Centre to provide life enhancing cancer treatment to the local community.
The hospital has been designed to provide essential care in a state-of-the-art facility for Dubbo and its surrounding regional areas of Western NSW. The NSW Government’s $150 million ensured the delivery of Stages 3 and 4 which includes:
- Emergency department and short stay unit
- Critical care floor with coronary care/stroke unit; intensive care unit; cardiac catheter laboratory
- Medical imaging unit
- Ambulatory care unit
- Main entry and drop off zone
It is quite clear, hospital environments are considered high traffic zones with large numbers of visitors, patients and daily movement of equipment and machinery. To address this, HDR Architects have carefully selected a range of Acrovyn products to withstand damage and preserve the integrity of the interior décor of the hospital.
Acrovyn has been the selected product of choice when it comes to protecting Dubbo hospital’s internal surfaces. Hansen and Yuncken Builders alongside Cutch and Hutch worked closely to deliver the final stages of the project to meet the building program. Chad Reusch, the Construction Manager from Cutch and Hutch highly recommends using Acrovyn to provide high-level protection for walls and doors:

It has been extremely rewarding for Construction Specialties to work with HDR Architects and the Dubbo Redevelopment team to bring the vision to life. It was important to select products that were fit for purpose along with meeting the aesthetics criteria to match the overall design scheme.
