Making Buildings Better™ – It is more than just our tagline. It defines who we are and what we stand for. As a leader in architectural building products, we welcome and seek out problems and unmet needs. In fact, we thrive on it. No problem is too big or too small. And we don’t stop until we solve it.
Here at CS we manufacture and supply a range of specialist building products designed to make buildings better, whether that be through extending the building lifecycle, reducing maintenance costs or ensuring safety for owners and occupiers.
We’ve been supplying our products to the healthcare sector for 40+ years, working directly with Facilities Managers to ensure their buildings are protected and operating efficiently. Below is a list of some of the solutions we’ve been providing:
CS Acrovyn® Wall Protection
Wall finishes in hospitals can quickly become marked, scratched and damaged by passing equipment, and daily contact with hundreds of patients, staff and visitors. Apart from looking unsightly, cracked and damaged walls can harbour bacteria, compromising infection control and patient safety.
Our Acrovyn® range is synonymous with interior wall protection, extending the lifecycle of the building fabric and significantly reducing cleaning and maintenance costs. Renowned for its quality and durability, Acrovyn® effectively protects interior walls, doors and corners against damage from pedestrian and wheeled traffic.
Choose from a wide selection of solutions including handrails, crashrails, corner guards and wall coverings, to create bespoke interior protection schemes to suit functional and aesthetic requirements of various hospital areas.
CS Acrovyn® Doors & Door Protection
Hospital environments are particularly tough on doors and door frames. With traffic flowing through the doors 24 hours a day, damage from porters’ trolleys, beds, wheelchairs, staff and patients is inevitable. With fire and patient safety of paramount importance, damaged doorsets have to be repaired or replaced quickly, often at great expense.
Our Door Protection Solutions help extend the lifecycle of the door and reduce maintenance costs.
For existing doors: our highly durable and impact resistant Acrovyn® Sheet is applied to door faces and/or door edges, as required, to significantly prolong their lifespan.
For new doors: in high traffic areas where damage is regular and significant, we recommend post-formed or fully encapsulated Acrovyn® Doors, available in a range of configurations and fire rated or non-fire rated options.
CS Acrovyn by Design® Bespoke Wall Protection
Extensive research has shown that art can be successfully used to create beautiful, healing and non-institutional healthcare environments. Carefully selected artwork can have different effects (positive and negative) – relaxing, distracting or stimulating – to suit the type of the area it’s used in.
CS’ bespoke Acrovyn by Design wall coverings are a perfect medium for incorporating artwork in hospitals. They offer high quality image reproduction and complete design flexibility in creating stunning, unique interiors.
The artwork is embedded behind a layer of our impact and scratch resistant Acrovyn® material, producing a highly durable wall finish, which is suitable for application to walls and other flat surfaces in busy circulation corridors, wards and waiting areas.
Wall murals created using Acrovyn by Design are resistant to daily wear and tear and can be cleaned regularly to meet infection control requirements.
CS Wallglaze® Hygienic Coatings
Rigorous cleaning regimes are critical to maintaining any healthcare facility and keeping Hospital Acquired Infections at bay. However, thorough and repeated cleaning and use of aggressive cleaning agents takes its toll on walls painted with standard emulsions, causing surface finishes to change colour and become more porous, ultimately leading to microbial growth. Regular maintenance and repainting of those areas is not only expensive, but can be very disruptive to the day to day running of the hospital.
CS Wallglaze Hygienic Coatings for walls and ceilings are designed for areas where infection control and a long-lasting, hygienic finish is important. They contain non-leaching anti-microbial additives in every layer of the system, and can be cleaned repeatedly without any degradation to the surface or its performance. The range includes systems to suit all hospital areas, from general circulation corridors, to operating theatres, laboratories and mortuaries. The high resin content of our systems ensures excellent durability and a long lifecycle, well in excess of 10 years.
