The Aviva Stadium in Dublin, designed by HOK Sport (now Populous), was built on the former Lansdowne Road stadium site and officially opened on the 14th May 2010. The impressive stadium offers seats for more than 50,000 spectators.
The type of building and its use as an entertainment venue meant that the movement joint covers had to meet high performance requirements and be both fire and moisture resistant.
CS AL-200HD joint covers combined with CS Moisture barriers were chosen for their heavy duty rolling load capabilities and their ability to withstand up to 100mm overall horizontal movement.
For the internal areas, where moisture was less of a worry, AL-200HD covers with CS Reflex Fire Barriers were installed as well as SM-200N wall joint covers.
