Good to Give:
A Volunteering Day at Fremantle Court, Aylesbury
As part of our Good to Give volunteering initiative, a small group of CS employees spent a day at a local care home helping to rejuvenate their garden furniture.
Located on the outskirts of Aylesbury, in a peaceful setting overlooking the Chiltern Hills, Fremantle Court (part of The Fremantle Trust) is a purpose-built facility delivering specialist residential, nursing and dementia care services.
The home offers a homely, clean and spacious living environment, with en suite rooms and a range of attractive communal and relaxation areas. A friendly and experienced personnel provide high standard of care and personalised support to all residents, ensuring their individual needs are met with choice, dignity and respect.
As a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation, the Fremantle Trust fosters strong links with the local community and offers a wide range of volunteering opportunities.
CS volunteers were tasked with painting tired benches and tables to help bring a splash of colour to the balconies and gardens in readiness for spring and the Fremantle in Bloom competition. They received a warm welcome from the staff and the residents, who have shown a lot of interest in the activity taking place in their home.
The team unanimously agreed this was a very enriching and rewarding experience. Further volunteering activities in the local area are currently being planned.

“This was an amazing experience, a step out of our daily routines, spent with great people, and an opportunity to realize that there’s always something that we all can do to help and make a difference."
